Puddleducks Day Nursery

Puddleducks Day Nursery opened in January 1997 at Blackymore Community Centre. The pre-school is open for 38 weeks, term time only and takes children from the age of 2 years 6 months

At Puddleducks Day Nursery we believe that children who are happy, secure and interested in their surroundings will be motivated to learn.

We offer a play based approach to learning, providing planned activities based on children spontaneous learning both indoors and outdoors and through adult supported activities.

The Early Years Foundation Stage is based around four themes, each with a principle attached to it as follows:

  • every child is a unique child, who is constantly learning and can be resilient, capable, confident and self-assured
  • children learn to be strong and independent through positive relationships
  • children learn and develop well in enabling environments, in which their experiences respond to their individual needs and there is a strong partnership between practitioners and parents and/or carers
  • children develop and learn in different ways and at different rates. The framework covers the education and care of all children in early years provision, including children with special educational needs and disabilities
